PRESENTATION OF HIGH ACHIEVER GOLFMARK AWARD
It was a very special day when Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club was awarded the "High Achiever GolfMark Accreditation". Alastair Spink – County Development Officer for the Suffolk Golf Partnership – and Steven Peet – Regional Development Officer for the English Golf Union, presented the GOLFMARK Plaque to Wendy Wootton – Junior Organiser for the Club.
Also at the Presentation were the Club Captian – Dougie Pipe, the Ladies Captain – Rose Stollery, the Head Professional – Ian Macpherson and the Assistant Professional – Andrew Robinson.
It was agreed by everyone at the Presentation that it was a landmark for the Club and the beginning of great things for the Juniors section. Having gained the "High Achiever" status shows that Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club is fully committed to develop a high quality and welcoming environment for any Junior wishing to play golf.
The Club is only one of four clubs in Suffolk who have achieved this very prestigious award.

Celtic Manor, playing in the qualifying rounds reaching the top 10 out of 80 qualifiers. Mark at the age of 15 is
the youngest qualifier and played a Ryder Cup formot against former Ryder Cup players, winning 2 & 1 against
Gordan Brand Jnr. & Jeremy Robinson, then played fourballs against Gordon Brand Jnr. & John Hawkworth,
losing on the last green. He then played on the 2010 Ryder Cup course at Celtic Manor, playing against Philip
Walton in the singles, winning 5 & 4.
HASKELL TROPHY
Amanda Norman and Sharon Luckman have won the Haskell Trophy at Ipswich Golf Club beating Aldeburgh by 11 and 10.
Amanda and Sharon were 6 up at lunch having played one under par for the morning round. Their long drives and accurate iron shots onto the greens proved too much for the Aldeburgh pair of Lottie Edmunds and Deborah Backhouse and they clinched the match on the 8th green to retain the trophy for the second consecutive year

CONGRATULATION TO OUR LADIES IN WINNING THE COUNTY CRANWORTH TROPHY
On September 24th the team of Anna Fairs, Rose Stollery (replacing Christine Pearce who is on holiday), Pam Evans, Alice Wan, Hilary Moss and Alicia Cook beat Brett Vale in the Cranworth finals.
In the morning foursomes we won 14 of the possible 15 points and with a quick succession of wins on the front 9 holes in the afternoon singles we soon reached the winning score of 23 points. This was a magnificent team performance, with experienced caddies in attendance, and a large group of Club supporters applauding every stroke.
The last time that the ladies reached the Cranworth finals was 1996 and we had not won it since 1966 so this was an incredible team performance.
The Cranworth Salver was presented by the County President, Sue Cook, and is proudly displayed in the Ladies trophy cabinet.

The national, regional and local titles Heidi has already won in the last few years are far too numerous to mention here. She is the 2009 Suffolk Ladies strokeplay and matchplay champion and also reached the quarter finals of the England Ladies matchplay championship this year. Heidi set the Ladies course record at Ipswich Golf Club when she was 14 years old. There is no doubt that a great future lies ahead of her.
Rhodri Harston is 18 years old and is the Captain of the Welsh Boys team, having represented Wales in national and international competitions for the last two years. Rhodri has been the Welsh Under 16 champion and was our Club Champion at the age of 15.
