The Kingsfleet, 9 holes 2986 yards, par 35 is available for 'Pay and Play' to all comers. It offers pleasant views across the river Deben and marshes and is as much a challenge as the Martello having two par fives. This is not a pitch and putt course but a true test of golf.
Guide to the Kingsfleet Course by our PGA Club Professional Ian MacPherson
1st - Par 4 - 286 yards
A driveable par four if you avoid the bunkers, or play safe and aim for the old house.
2nd - Par 4 – 361 yards
Dog leg left. Driving line is just right of the bunkers, beware of the hidden bunker 20 yards short of the green.
3rd - Par 3 – 187 yards
Usually into the prevailing wind, lost ground between the bunkers and the green makes it easy to underclub.
4th - Par 5 - 516 yards
Slight dog leg left, best driving line is just to the right of the bunker, water on the right all the way to the green. The cross bunkers make you think about your second.
5th - Par 3 - 152 yards
The pond to the right of the green is ready to catch any stray balls.
6th - Par 4 - 402 yards
Dog leg right, many think the best on the course. Keep your drive midway between the single bushes, on either side of the fairway, 250yds from the tee, now select the correct club for your approach!
7th - Par 4 - 384 yards
Dog leg right, drive midway between the two sets of bunkers each side of the fairway, again take care with your choice of club for your approach to the plateau green.
8th - Par 5 - 487 yards
From the tee beware of the pond 250yds from the tee, its 275yds to carry! Take note of where the pin is situated on the two tier green.
9th - Par 3 - 211 yards
Requires a well hit shot to carry the bunker and get the ball to stay on the green.
All distances above are measured from the white tees which for 18 holes on the Kingsfleet Course is a par 70 with a SSS 69
