Captain's Drive-in avoids the rain - unlike the Greensomes Competition

Sunday saw the Captain's Greensomes competition played in some of the worst weather conditions we've seen this year, with heavy rain, hail stones and strong winds.  In fact it was probably the worst we've seen since the club championship held back in July - although at least on Sunday conditions did improve and many of the teams successfully completed 18 holes.  All players should be congratulated for supporting the competition in such poor conditions.

The competition also saw nearest the pin on the 9th go to David Braithwaite - with a hole in 1!  Well done David.  Full results are:

Men - Trevor King & Darren Cloud - 45 points
Ladies - Ann Spencer & Fiona Todd - 33 points

Runners Up

2nd - Chris Dreyer & Conrad Simons - 43 points
3rd - Allan Dawson & Andrew Brown - 42 points
4th - Dave King & Andrew Crane - 41 points
5th - Lee Tweed & Mark Linney - 39 points (ocb)

Nearest the pin

5th - David Bloom
9th - David Braithwaite (HOLE IN ONE!)

Following the competition, the Junior, Lady Section and Club Captain all managed to complete their Drive-ins between the showers - photos below.

Well done to Callum with a drive of 195 yards, Jude with 144 yards and Ian with 180 yards.
