The Martello Course at Felixstowe Ferry is one of the oldest in England, having been established in 1880 and is the only links course in Suffolk and one of only 246 true links courses in the world.

The first hole provides a challenging opening hole. Most golfers favour the right hand side of the fairway because of the road, but a left of centre drive opens up the approach to the green. Beware of the bunker on the left guarding the green.

PRO TIP MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

pro tip

From the teeing ground the ideal line is left half of the fairway. Your approach is played to a green that slopes from right to left; therefore I would recommend that you aim towards the right side of the green.
