Golf Sixes

Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club junior section has been an active participant in the ‘GolfSixes’ since 2018. The exciting ‘GolfSixes League’ is growing, a junior club team format which was a real success with children and parents last year. Regular 6-a-side team, 6-hole matches are played against neighbouring clubs, run by children’s golf charity the Golf Foundation.

In 2019, the leagues were played at more than 230 golf clubs by over 2,600 boys and girls; always working with trusted club PGA Professionals, club volunteers and many parents who are most welcome at all fixtures.

GolfSixes League

GolfSixes League teams have players competing in pairs, enjoying the inclusive Texas Scramble format. It is all about being part of a team and representing your club in a local league, having a fun, friendly competition in the right spirit. The matches are played over a short course with holes having a maximum length of 150 yards.

The competition is aimed at junior golfers up to the age of 16 starting their golfing journey, with a golfing handicap 37 or above (or without a handicap) at the start of the season. Each year FFGC aims to have a squad of around 12 players and to have each member play in 4 of the fixtures during the year. First matches are usually played in late April early May continuing through to September or October, with 2 of these being at Felixstowe on the Kingsfleet course.

Golf Sixes 2023
